The Omni-Heat NASA space blanket technology seems to work a lot better than North Face's Thermoball/Primaloft insulation. The Mighty Light is also less expensive than North Face, which I think is just more expensive because of the brand name. I normally wear Medium, and decided to try the Mighty Light/Lite in Small. The shoulder/chest fits fine (I'm 6'2" 155 lb) and the length is actually better than North Face. The sleeves are a tad short but the overall torso fit is much slimmer and neater than North Face's ultra relaxed fit.I can wear just this Mighty Lite in 40F, and my torso and arms would be warm while everything else not covered would be very cold. It also works extremely well as a liner for a soft shell jacket. The stitching isn't exactly the best. It is already starting to unravel near the main zipperOverall: 4/5 stars, would benefit from better quality stitchingAs other reviewers mentioned, I laughed a little when I received my jacket in the mail. It's so light weight and thin that the mail courier was able to roll up the parcel and jam it into my small NYC mailbox. Upon first sight and feel, this jacket appears to be a spring or autumn jacket...not worthy to wear in winter weather. Well, I put it to the extreme test yesterday. It was an absurdly cold night (7 degrees, felt like -10 here in NYC with 30mph wind gusts). I wore this light jacket with a sweater and you know what? I WAS WARM! It retains your body heat just enough to keep you warm without overheating you or leaving you with frostbite. Kudos to Columbia for making such a great jacket! My only disappointment is that I wish I knew they came in tall sizes. I'm 6'5" and thin, and bought the large size. While it fits, I think I'd have been best suited for a tall medium. I'm still completely satisfied!!I love this jacket. The name speaks for itself: Mighty Light. This jacket is not heavy, however, it really keeps you warm. I've used it for a couple weeks now here in the winter of the northern Midwest and am very impressed. I bought this jacket to wear in the windy conditions anywhere from upper 40s to around freezing. This jacket does not disappoint. Also, if you are not spending a lot of time outside, or if you are staying active outside, this jacket will surely keep you warm enough even down into the mid 20s. At least that has been my experience so far. If your looking for a lighter jacket that keeps you warm in conditions anywhere from 25-50 degrees I would recommend this product. This is definitely not a winter jacket, though so keep that in mind.My son is tall and skinny. 29" hips...However at 17yrs old I don't foresee him getting too much taller so I bought the size medium thinking he would grow into it...fill it out. But dang it runs big. Can not find a small in this coat so we are going to keep it and use the draw strings around the bottom of the coat to make it work....to try to make it a little snug to his frameI have this same coat in the womans long hooded version and love love love the warmth and coat in generalI bought this lightweight jacket for my hubby for a trip to New York City. It folds into a very very small space in the carry on luggage. I ordered a small. My hubby is 5-8" and 150 lbs with a 38 chest. It fits perfectly with room for a lightweight sweater beneath. My only, tiny complaint is that it has no inside pockets for a wallet, iPhone, or glasses. The exterior pockets are roomy, lined with a warm material, and have sturdy zippers. Columbia is such a good brand, I was sure the quality would be good, which it is. And a good value for the price. This coat is great for travel as you can pack it very small - it stuffs easily into small carry on backpack along with raincoat, book, and other essentials. It is warm for the weight and the bright color makes you easy to find in a crowd! They make such tight or wacky colors for women and it's even worse for plus-size women so I went searching. The color was great and the fit was what I was looking for. The sleeves were a bit long so I rolled them under and secured them with a couple of safety pins. Don't now what is happening with clothing sleeves these days where they are so out of portion -- but I worked it out.Really like this jacket except it was a little too small. I'm 5'10 and 190 lbs and the medium size was a little shortin length in the arms and snug at the waist. I reordered a large size and fits better. This was the first time I returnedanything to Amazon and was pleasantly surprise that there was no problems revising my order.NADA QUE VER CON EL ROJO DE LA FOTO , ES UN ROJO TRISTE....CALIDAD DE COLUMBIA AUNQUE ALGO DELGADA
