FANTASTIC SOUND ON SNARE. GIVE YOUR SNARE WHAT IT DESERVES Our MTP 440 DM features a high-performance capsule that delivers remarkably lively sound. Perfect for miking your snare drum. The consistent cardioid pattern focuses on the sound of your snare, live, and in the studio.
FANTASTIC SOUND ON AMPS Does your amp go to eleven? So does the MTP 440 DM! High-SPL sources like amplifiers are reproduced with high clarity and full details. The slight bass roll-off and defined midrange provide a punchy and unique sound that works like a charm with cabs of any size.
FANTASTIC SOUND ON WIND INSTRUMENTS Clear sounding wind instruments? Here's how. Wind instruments produce high sound pressure levels, not every microphone is capable of handling. Our MTP 440 DM has proven itself on countless stages. Let your instrument have a clear sound quality it needs to stand out in the mix.
DURABLE MATERIALS FOR LONGEVITY This mic can take quite a beating. To assure your beloved microphone survives drops and unintended hits, we made the enclosure out of durable zinc die-cast parts. A rubber-suspension protects the capsule while minimizing structure-borne noise.
CARDIOID POLAR PATTERN Focus on your instrument. A cardioid polar pattern picks up sound coming mainly from the front of the microphone, sound from directly behind the MTP 440 DM is dampened. Unwanted reflections or background noise are effectively suppressed.
This is billed as an "instrument" microphone but it excels for vocals. I'm getting very good clarity/intelligibility with the Lewitt MTP 440, my lyrics/speech are much more "understandable" both in the monitors and front-of-house. The MTP 440 also has excellent gain-before-feedback and low handling noise. I also regularly use the Shure SM58, AKG330, and EV ND96, all perform well for vocals but the Lewitt MTP 440 is my favorite so far for live vocals due to the enhanced intelligibility.I am a long-time fan of the AKG microphones, and I'm very impressed with their former engineers' work with the Lewitt brand. Everything I love about my vintage AKG dynamics (like the D1000, D330, etc) is there in the Lewitt microphones, very reasonably priced for the quality you get.The bundle included a boom-stand + XLR cable from "On-Stage Stands," both of the high quality I expect from them. "On-Stage-Stands" has been my go-to brand for decades on guitar/microphone stands. (Their guitar stands are especially good, I have never had their padded parts mar an instrument's nitro-lacquer finish the way some stands do.) I got the bundle for the microphone's regular-price, so this was a great deal overall! If you're after a microphone that will really get your lyrics out there understandably, I highly recommend the Lewitt MTP 440. If you're a fan of the old AKG stuff, I definitely recommend it because Lewitt is doing a great job of keeping that tradition going (much as Leo Fender went on with Music Man and G&L, as I understand it the Lewitt company is staffed by former AKG engineers.)I also bought a Lewitt 240 studio condenser from the same vendor, I haven't used it enough yet to properly review it but I have every confidence it will be in line with the AKG quality-wise (it appears well-built and has a nice custom shock-mount/pop-filter.)
