Be advised that this fixture requires candelabra base bulbs, not standard medium base bulbs. So I guess it is for people who don't need much light in their bathroom. Also, FYI, the inner diameter of the glass shades is 2 13/16". So don't buy the fat candelabra bulbs. Stick to the skinny ones. The visible part of the shade (not counting the inset base that surrounds the bulb holder) is not quite 5 7/8" tall. The height from the bottom of the base to the top of the shade is 7 7/8" - just a tad under the 8" listed - but who's counting, right? The length is spot on - 47" exactly. Will the seller tell you any of this before you buy it or provide any technical specs in the listing? Nope, because they claim there isn't enough space. But you can definitely call them if you have any questions. I wish I was kidding. It is an "ok" fixture otherwise, although you can probably do better for the price. It's nothing special in terms of quality or style - similar to what you could pick up off the rack at a big box store.
