Common troubleshooting: If probe is dry, please soak in KCL solution for 24 hours. Bluelab recommends our STSOL120 KCL Storage Solution, which is sold separately. Probe will not calibrate or provide accurate readings if it is dry and hasn't been re-soaked properly. Dry probes are normal and do not impact the quality of the product. The ultimate handy solution for measuring pH! Plants get their nutrition from minerals but they can only get all the right minerals they need if certain conditions are right. A key factor that affects food uptake is whether your solution is acid or alkaline. We measure this in pH. The Bluelab pH Pen is the latest innovation for hand held meters. It provides a compact quick and handy way to manage the success of your crops to ensure maximum uptake of nutrients. Teamed with our Bluelab EC Pen or Bluelab ppm Pen, you have a handy, convenient and accurate system for ensuring optimum plant growth and health. Now, isn't that handy? Features - Measures pH and temperature - Selectable units for ˚C & ˚F - Backlit LCD display - Double junction probe (not replaceable) - Successful pH calibration indicator - Hold reading function - Low battery indicator - Fully waterproof - Auto off function - Automatic temperature compensation.
Measures pH in nutrient solution (acid or alkaline) for precise up and down adjustment with lab quality glass probe; General uses include growing tent, swimming pool, drinking water, aquarium, fish tank, and brewing
This hydroponics tester has ATC that provides consistent reading regardless of any fluctuations in temperature; Calibration reminder; Durable design for repeated uses; Fully waterproof and floats in solutions
Double junction electrode has a longer lifespan compared to standard probes due to less contamination and is more accurate and reliable than comparable pens, test strips, drops, and more
Combine with ppm meters for full indoor garden nutrients monitoring in water and soil; Other features: Auto off function, low battery indicator, units for temperature; KIT INCLUDES: AAA battery, lanyard, and calibration solution
IF PROBE IS DRY, SOAK IN KCL SOLUTION FOR 24 HOURS, KCL SOLUTION IS SOLD SEPARATELY; Made in New Zealand, and manufactured by Bluelab, the industry leader in hydroponic testing equipment; 1-Year Limited Warranty with proof of purchase
I've followed all of the directions, and I've worked with proper lab pH meters quite a bit (like, in a real lab). This pen makes calibration easy, but for some reason (the math it does in the background?) it will not hold calibrations properly. I can calibrate with ph 4 solution, then 7, then go back to the 4 and it will read 3.9. This is after letting things stabilize before every calibration/reading for a good 2-3+ minutes. Similarly, I can calibrate at 7 and then 10.01, and go back to 7 and it will read 6.9. Luckily I'm just using it for hydroponics, but it would be absolutely useless in some kind of lab.Oh yes, and it came with the storage solution in the cap dried up. I cleaned the dried solution off of it and stored it in fresh storage solution for about a week, even though the instructions say it only takes about 24 hours, just to be on the safe side. And yes, you need electrode storage solution (it comes with some packets but that's not enough really), and at least 2 calibration solutions, probably pH 4 and 7, and preferably 10.01 as well. You can get away with the two that are closest to what you plan to test the meter with (4 and 7 for acids, 7 and 10.01 for bases). You can get everything in a nice box on Amazon for pretty cheap. Unfortunately, these glass electrode types of meters that require maintenance and calibration are the only ones that actually work. So, to all you complaining about it, your alternative is to buy those cheap metal electrode pH meters that are always extremely inaccurate, or to get pH test strips which have no precision and are their own kind of pain to deal with. However, in this particular case, I expected more from the price. I had an old pH meter that cost about the same amount, had 3 significant figures instead of 2, and held calibrations well even though it was fully manual, but it's no longer sold.I think this thing is just fancy, but not particularly good. I should have paid more for a low-end lab pH meter instead of a high-end consumer pH meter.Very easy to use accurate and reliable (so far). It is more expensive than cheap alternative that are often reported as inaccurate or unreliable and it requires the use of a storage solution and calibration solutions that are also not cheap. All in all I am fully satisfied with this purchase.Best ph pen out there. wish they made Products for The aquatic hobbies but this will doA delightful tool as compared to any other PH tester. Lit background. Very accurate. Really easy to calibrate. So much more accurate than color strip testers.Love this. Pretty simple to calibrate and easy to use. Highly recommendIt is a great pen. Fast to stabilize. Reliable and stays within calibration of a point or two tops for months when maintained with storage solution. Easy to calibrate also, just buy the two calibration standard solutions, it is stable for years and just keep well sealed for storage.Good product only had it for a month so less he seems well-built easy to calibrate instructions are pretty clear just have to buy solution for long time use for the probejust because is to early to give 5 star is the only reason for I left 4 star, compared with Hanna this test is much more Professional,Better Accuracy, and fast measure and easy to use.Damn good meter lousy company won't honor warranty. .the glass dome that covers the probe fell off in my reservoir and I didn't notice until it's too late it was flush when changing my nute's. Now they basically told me to fo! ? very angry these are not flippin cheap! Be forwarnded the customer service sucks! ?I have their EC meter which is awesome and this felt the same at first. After following all the manufacturer's guidelines it now displays oo89 on the screen and has what appears to be a missing section where there SHOULD be glue but isnt...Edit: After buying this product ELSEWHERE, and NOT on amazon... I now have a legitimately NEW product... Stay away from highstreethydro...All i can say here is that if you think your buying better accuracy and longevity than a £10 item from ebay DONT BE FOOLED .. after years of buying cheap ph pens (some of which still work 7 years on) this was totally disappointing and a total waste of money ..it was no more accurate than a cheapo .. needed calibrating just as often or more often .. and despite buying expensive probe cleaner/storage solution and ph calibration solution it hasnt lasted much more than 12 months ..I see bluelab have updated there online help now to say its life span is 12 to 18 months .DONT BUY .. save your money and get 3 or 4 cheap items ..After buying the cheap pens and having at least 3 of them all showing different readings, i splashed out on a blue lab one. Only 1 of the other pens was even close to what the blue lab was reading. My plants love it!Fast and stable read, build quality not on par with EC wand though.Overall I think would have been better to get Apera Instruments PH60 Premium kit as has a replaceable probe and lots more free solutions.
