I wanted to update the old 8-bulb studio lights in our 20-yr-old home. This fixture was a great value. It comes with a metal back plate and screws with toggle bolts to secure to the wall FIRST. Then the wires get hooked together. Finally, the top/black piece gets placed over the two screws and is secured with decorative black cap nuts. I just attached the metal back plate before I painted the bathroom to avoid having to tape and cut in around the pretty black part of the fixture. It made the task of painting so much easier. (Of course, I had to bring in another light to see while I painted.) When my paint dried, it was easy to wire the fixture and then attach it. For this long light I had to have help holding it. I bought a shorter one (4 bulbs) for my guest bathroom, which I managed installing on my own. The round center hole left by the old studio lights was about a 1/4" bigger than what this light would cover/hide, so I had to do a little wall patching first. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and ease of installation.
