05 GMC 1500 Sierra 2WD, CrewcabI just purchased the truck with 92k miles and it had what appeared to be the factory shocks (blue) on all four corners. I don't know how the truck felt from the factory, but the ride was terrible over rough patches of roadway and train tracks when I bought it. The truck also had a very "tippy" feel going into and coming out of turns. The bilstein 4600s (replaced front and rear) greatly improved the ride over rough roadways and made cornering much more stable. It still drives like a truck (over-sprung in rear, under in front), but the ride is much improved.Install tip: If the top stud/nut on the old shock is rusted and giving you problems get your angle grinder out. I fought trying to hold the stud while loosening the nut for 20 minutes, but it took a tremendous amount of force to get one turn and I had a lot of threads to go. I cut the stud with a grinder in 2 minutes.
