Timing for using AM137 is as following: When shooting photos or filming indoors, typically there’s an existing light source. However, due to lack of directional lighting, less than desirable photos are produced. Here is where AM137 kit comes in handy to help with directing light. AM137 can provide 3 point lighting effects, by setting lights in different positions, you can produce an increased three dimensional effect for your subject. For Portraiture photography, AM137 can provide partial exposure light effect, this effect also can be adjusted based on the shooting subject (person) and distance of the light kit. A shorter distance will provide a smaller lighting area but brighter luminance. Inversely, longer distances can provide a larger lighting area but dimmer luminance. For small subject or tabletop photography, AM137 can provide full lighting exposure. LINCOInc uses professional photographic light bulbs with a color temperature of 5500k. The telescopic stands for the lights and backdrop are very sturdy, and I like the twist clamps between the telescoping sections. It was not difficult to put together, even though it comes with no instructions. Everything worked out of the box.Draw backs: - The backdrops are much smaller than pictured. With the backdrop stand fully assembled (it has four interlocking pole segments to hang the fabric from), the fabric does not reach both ends. I ended up using only three of the four segments. - This whole set-up comes with a carrying bag, but it doesn't come packed inside the bag. The reason is that you'll never get all the stands to fit in it. I ended up buying a completely separate case for this reason. I'm even considering sawing down (shortening) the backdrop pole segments. - You have to be careful with packing the telescopic stands because if you collapse the sections too tightly, they won't telescope back out without the use of something like some pliers. - The packaging was absolutely atrocious. Everything was thrown inside a very over sized box and not padded properly. I only received three of the five small ring clips because they were just loose rolling around in the box with everything else. Thankfully, the bulbs were in foam packaging inside individual boxes. - The chromakey green back drop isn't the bright green I was expecting; it's a bit darker which requires even more light. I'll see how it turns out in editing, I guess.Recommendations: - I didn't even use the fabric clips it came with, and bought separate, heavy-duty clips. - I plan on buying some much brighter bulbs. I had to turn the defuser umbrellas around backwards to get more light, and even then I was turning the ISO on my DSLR and camcorders up way too high.I received my package on time. Everything was packed neatly . Bulbs we're in tact. The set is very easy to setup. I didn't see the instructions until after I set it up. It still was very easy to figure out.Lamps provide great lighting. Equipment is light which allows me to transport it without any help.The carrying case is very convenient. I recommend not throwing away the boxes the bulbs come in. So when you transport you will be able to keep them safe.The bulbs are amazing and they look like they will last forever.The backdrops are light and thin but provide a great background. I actually prefer the light material. Its easier to maneuver and it keeps the weightht on the bar light.I attached all three backdrops so I can slide them over depending on the color I want to use. I bought extra rings from Walmart. 7 rings for under $5I use 5 rings per curtain. I folded the curtain in half and then in half again to make sure the rings are evenly spaced for better support. I placed a ring on each curtain (lifting the layers one by one) then placing one in the middle.I plan on ordering another set of backdrops so I can have a set of matte and a set of reflective. That way I can just slide what I need instead of taking them.down and putting them back up.We have to work smarter not harder.I am very pleased with my purchase.I was very pleased with the quality of the stands. They have a nice finish and good working clamps. Everything came well package. The backdrop stands can go higher than my ceiling and the crossbar has four 2.5 foot sections that fit well together. The lamp mounts are nice and hold the umbrellas well. Everything is very well made and pretty sturdy. It is however light weight. Speedlights work well with other mounting brackets but I would not put a heavy light on the stands if they are going to be moved a lot. I only opened the white backdrop so far. It is fabric- about as thin as the sheets in the military. It was 5'x 9.5'. Long enough to drape to the ground but at 5'- not wide enough for a group portrait. There are rings with clips that hold the backdrop to the crossbar- much like a shower curtain. Assembly is straight forward, simple and easy. All of the joints appear to be fastened by bolts and nuts which can be easily replaced as opposed to a stripped rivet. This is exactly what I needed for a lightweight highly portable setup.The stands are actual metal. This is an amazing deal to get into a background for dirt cheap. Setup was effortless and took barely 15 minutes to set up the entire set.Save and het a better qualityWanted additional backdrops which happen to come with these lights with umbrellas instead of soft boxes. Works great!
