This is an excellent product. I play both acoustic and electronic kits live and have always set up in a compact configuration. I originally bought one for my e kit to clear up the floor a little and it worked perfectly, out of the box. Since I also prefer the drum rack to stands, I liked it so much I picked up another for my dw. The only real adjustment I had to make on the acoustic set was to remove the memory clamp so I could lower the snare basket all the way down. Once that was set it was easy to get the drum placement how I wanted with the swivel ball. I've always struggled with floor space and placement of my dw snare stand between the double kick pedal and hi hat stand...this just made it alot easier. I read alot of reviews about how this items extension rod is not long enough and how it's to high...I think it just depends on your play style and how you set up. For mine, it's worked great on both acoustic and electronic drums
