I am 5'9 and a small/medium build but I like my outerwear a little loose so I bought a large in the blue color. Delivery was quick and packaged nice. The coat is such an awesome color. It is a very vibrant blue, with good quality stitching and accessories (zippers, pockets, etc.) The coat is incredibly light weight and fits as expected although I might in future purchases get a medium (I often buy tops bigger so my wrists aren't hanging out but I don't think a medium would have been to short). Shortly after I received the coat, I went camping at a barn in the middle of nowhere that had no heat. I was impressed, it got down to the 30s and with a medium weight sweater underneath I was more than comfortable. I get cold easily so not being freezing was a nice change of pace and my friends appreciated me not whining! I'm in MI and the temperature has been in the mid 50s and with just a t-shirt underneath this coat has kept me warm so far but once winter finally hits I will probably wear it with a hoody for extra warmth. There hasn't been a significant amount of rain but I have had no issues staying dry when it's sprinkling. I do believe based on the design this coat is water proof.Considerations for buying:I'm a girl so I compared this coat which is marketed for men with the comparable Columbia versions marketed for women. This coat does not have the inner sleeve extensions with the thumb hole that the women's jacket has. Also there is a inner upper pocket that could be used for a cell phone or Ipod but this jacket does not have a hole in it to thread a headphone cord through ( the women's jacket does). The men's coat dimensions are a little longer in both the sleeves and torso then the women's (This is the main reason I chose this one, in addition to the color choice).Overall a great quality, functional and cost effective product! This jacket is very good. It is super light, has minimal bulk and provides enough room to layer. However, it does not offer outstanding wind protection. Also, unlike some reviewers who feel that this jacket is toasty or like an oven, I didn't feel that way.I kept this jacket. I think I can make it work. It's most comfortable when the temperature is above 40-42 F. In 25-32 F weather, I felt it did not do a good job of keeping me warm. You can get by if you need to protect yourself from the car to the mall, but if you are going to walk in it for more than 5 mins or wait at the train station like I do, then any temp below 32 or below 35 with wind is going to be a problem. In my opinion, a good winter jacket should protect you with only regular clothes underneath for upto 25F. But this one has a higher threshhold (38-42F)All in all, the pros of this jacket and the fact that it can warm up once I layer with something underneath does the job for me, hence I decided to keep it. I usually layer it with an acrylic sweater or another fleece jacket when the temps are below 32. Above 32, I just tolerate the cold while cursing this weak jacket. If you are looking for a warm winter jacket, then this is not it. If you want a light weight jacket that can help you get by, but not without the cost of leaving you unprotected when the whether worsens, then this one can work. Just know it's limitations before you buy.If you need a comparison, it's slightly warmer than the famous Denali jacket by The North Face. This has turned out to be a great jacket. As other reviewers have said, it is very light and would easily fold up into a travel bag when needed. I was surprised at the warmth it provides because when you take it out of the package it feels like there is nothing to it. I have worn it in low 30's weather with wind and it does the job keeping my upper body warm. I am 5'9" with a large chest at 46" and I ordered the large size and it fits perfectly. Just enough room underneath to allow free movement with a regular or heavy shirt and even a light sweater. Arms fit me as well without running past my wrist. It has almost no weight to it- great movement especially when you have the coat on and driving. There is a hood which is also warm, but my one negative and why it does not get 5 stars is the hood has no drawstrings. Seems kind of foolish, so in the wind it can blow off. You would need to secure with a scarf.I bought this jacket specifically for a recent trip to Iceland because I needed something warm that was also weatherproof. It was perfect. I absolutely love this jacket. It is incredibly light but nonetheless kept me plenty warm. From walking around Reykjavik to hiking in the elements, it was ideal for every application. Excellent insulation, it had great resistance to wind. One day the sky was dumping ice and I was able to stay dry out in the wide open. Fit-wise, I ordered a medium and it is the perfect fit for me at 6'2" and 170 lbs. Form fitting and not bulky at all.Potential downsides (emphasis on "potential") are that there are only 2 pockets and the hood has no drawstrings. These things did not affect me, just mentioning them in case they may affect you.Wonderful winter jacket. The reflective heat lining will reduce the need to layer upon layer in extreme cold. Not a bulky jacket but just right. I am 5 foot 10, 34 inch waist and about 185lbs....the large size works great for me and leaves some room for layering. Jacket hood does not have draw strings but is fitted differently than those with pull cords....not really needed since collar zip comes up high and the good is shaped to that of your head more, rather than the big boxy hoods that need the pull cords to stay on right. Cannot beat the amazon pricing when you get it right, these jackets go for $125 full retail. Columbia is my brand for rain and winter wear, compared to north face, you get much better value and on par quality with north face. Columbia all the way here.Ligera, cómoda y muy abrigadora, excelente para usar en capas, la usé acampando bajo 0° como 3era capa y perfecto'Fue un regalo, y le encantó
