This is a great lamp.We bought a different one that was cheaper and very poorly made. After that experience, I was trying to spend a little more, but now a whole lot for an adjustable lamp (some nice ones can be found for $500-$800... ridiculous for a lamp).Build quality is solid. Lamp is adjustable in many directions: side to side, up and down, and the head pivots, as well. We chose to direct-wire the lamp right now, but will be moving it up and using the cord option at a later date. Nice that both options are available, and that there is a cord cover included, and that there is a little plug to cover the hole for the cord if you are direct-wiring the lamp.Only thing to complain about is the knob on top for the switch isn't very good, it falls off.
