Much nicer than I ever thought for put together furniture.bought this to replace an old entertainment center. Chose this b/c a) it was going into a corner, b) it had a center cabinet that would accommodate the receiver and turntable I wanted to put to use, and c) it looked nice on the picture. It's delivered on all of those. Assembly wasn't that bad. It took about an hour and a half, or two, but I wasn't in a rush. Instructions were mostly clear, and pieces fit together quite well, too.The only quibble I have is that I wish it was a bit wider. That's not a fault of the unit, but of the options for width. It's mostly fine, I just wish I had a couple of more inches of width on the top so both the TV and bookshelf speakers could fit side-by-side. I had the put the speakers behind the tv, so about 1/4 of them are blocked by part of the tv...very minor issue, though. Pleased with this purchase....oh, and it arrived a week earlier than reported, so that was nice, too. This manufacturer has quality control issues and is using inferior materials. I like the layout and dimensions, but am disappointed in the materials and build quality. The top of the tv stand has a very visible defect where some depressions appear to have been present before this was painted and someone tried to cover it up with a little mat black paint. It was the first thing I noticed. All of the cam bolts that thread into threaded inserts in any fiber board appear to screw further than desired, sinking too low for the cam locks to engage (I backed some out), or are close to stripping out. The cam lock nuts are weak and easily deform under light pressure. At least one broke and all deformed with one edge starting to bulge out so that none are completely flush with the surface (a combination of weak materials and maybe poor tolerance for hole placement and depth). The top rail was cut short, leaving a visible gap with dowel showing in the second picture. This same piece had an offset hole such that one of the cam bolts would not fit in a pre-drilled hole due to misalignment. The front glass doors are visibly misaligned. Spring inserts in the doors pop into predrilled holes, so there is no way to fix this unless the panels are replaced with more accurately drilled holes. The misalignment has to have occurred either on the bottom panel, fitted shelf or the doors.I am disappointed in the dearth of good alternatives. The quality exceeded my expectations. It came well protected in a box that was close to 100 lb. Assembly is not trivial. I'm fairly handy, and it took me about 2 hours. I thought it was fun, but some wouldn't. The design is clever. In the end everything lines up - no crooked cabinet doors or anything. It looks like nice furniture, not just a tv stand. The Good:* There was a big hole in the box upon delivery but they did a good job of packaging it so nothing on the inside was damaged from the delivery.* Once it is together it looks pretty good and fits nicely where we wanted it. I like the beveled glass in the doors. The main reason I bought this online was it was hard finding a corner type TV stand in local stores.* The finish on the top piece had no flawsThe Bad:* There are many many pieces. Expect to spend 1.5 to 2 hours assembling this thing.* I'm not sure if their production values have changed over time or what but my experience does not match some of the early reviews of this product. A lot of the pieces in the rear (that you will probably never see) had flaws in the finish or are extremely flimsy. One of the pieces in rear had obviously been dropped and I considered returning it until I figured out you would never really see it.* They use the same feet from a square version of this stand (to cut production costs I assume) so the rear feet look a little odd on the back. You never see them so it's not the end of the world but for $400 bucks more attention to detail would be nice.* At one point midway through you have to flip it over. Be extremely careful when you do this. Even with my wife helping me to flip it over slowly the pieces are so precariously attached one of the internal screws ripped slightly out.* On attaching the bottom, one of dowel (peg) holes wasn't drilled quite deep enough so when I pushed on the bottom to try and seat it, the dowel pushed through the bottom because it's made of quality particle board (<--sarcasm).Overall there were too many times when I was like "I guess it doesn't matter, you won't see that.". If this was a $250 stand from wal-mart or Ikea it would be different. I'm not expecting Bassett furniture quality or something but for $400 I expected a little more than I got.We have been looking for a nice looking corner TV stand for several months. Furniture stores, Target, Wal-Mart, on-line, etc. but could not find anything that we liked or would fit in our corner. This Crosley 48-inch Corner TV stand in black fit the bill perfectly! It arrived within the shipping days quoted by Amazon and was packaged very well. I have seen other reviews on this type of product where screws would not work, corners were crushed on shelves or tops, etc. But this one arrived in perfect condition. All parts were there and it took me about 2 hours to put together. One word of caution when you are putting it together. Make sure the middle shelf is turned the right way inside the cabinet so the back panel can slide down in the grooved tracks. If you get shelf installed wrong way, you have to take part of cabinet apart in order to turn middle shelf around. Other than that, instructions were very thorough and easy to follow. Great piece for the price! This stand met my expectations in terms of size and functionality, assembly took some time but if you are comfortable with tools it is not problem, just take your time and make sure you follow the instructions.I had a little problem with one of the screws as it was not holding very well but I just replaced it with bigger one and that was it. It includes an anchoring system but the unit seems pretty stable.I gave 4 stars because in some parts at the front the finish can break and reveal some of the material underneath.Crosley Alexandria 48" TV Stand in vintage mahoganyWe love it.We wanted a TV stand with doors or drawers as we have limited storage space.
