We built a new house and moved in March 2018. We did some interesting modifications to our home including turning the front formal living room into a formal dining room. The builder only offered ONE chandelier with our floorplan, so the builder included chandelier went to the formal dining room to pair with our large antique dining table that has been in the family for four generations. We ended up with a flush mount light in our dining nook, so we needed something else.I looked at other, more expensive fixtures from big brand names, and after I asked my FB friends for help in decision making, one friend sent me this fixture. It had almost everything the really expensive brand name one had: glass, more than two bulb outlets, modern farmhouse style. It was also $200 cheaper, so I decided to take the risk.I’m not sorry. It looks wonderful, and it operates well too. My husband’s only complaint is it’s actually too bright, (I wanted as much light as possible, so I put in 4-60 watt bulbs-the maximum you can use in this fixture). We will be installing a dimmer soon, but in the meantime, we love it. It really adds some character to an area of the house that had a builder included flush mount fixture in the ceiling, and adds charm to the room.I would say the reviews that mention the glass installation is a bit difficult are spot on, but because I warned my husband before he put it in, he was able to play around with it beforehand. I would also recommend a thorough cleaning of the glass BEFOEE you install it, if possible, because we had to clean the glass several times to get the dust that settled in the glass between manufacture and installation. You would need to clean the glass again once it’s up and installed, but a good cleaning beforehand would make it much easier to get the fingerprints off once it’s up.Another tip to consider is to make sure you know what height you want hanging from the ceiling before you install. My husband started installing this fixture when I was out, and I got home at just the right time-he needed help holding the fixture as he started wiring it into the ceiling. If you don’t have a way to suspend it from the ceiling, it may also be a little challenging, but his alternate plan (before I walked in the door) was to grab a wire coat hanger to hang it while he did the wiring. My arms were the better option, IMO.The last photo in this post is a before, so you can see how much it changed the feel and look of our space.
