This mic stand is well made. I was surprised at how smoothly the mic stand operated using the squeeze lock and that the threads didn't have any loose machined bits. The mic stand seems heavy enough. Note that the boom is shorter than some other stands. It is made to get a mic over an instrument, like a guitar, and not for much more offset than that. Mine came with a base section that could be extended using the squeeze handle, a section above that which could be removed depending on the final height range desired, and the boom section that allowed a short angled offset from the base. A longer boom can likely be had on mic stands with a 12 inch base. This stand has a 10 inch base, and because of that, it can't expect to hold heavy items at extreme angles. It seems to be something that would be good for light or medium mics, with the boom, or heavier mics without the boom.My package had been opened in transit. I think that everything was there. The only instructions showed, pictorially, how to attach the base to the first vertical piece, using the included square based special screw. But no options were shown so as how to connect the different pieces together. Instructions may have been lost, or it may be your job to show intelligence in connecting the pieces. I don't know, typically, very little intelligence is required to connect things together, and people seem to refuse to try. I enjoyed the 3 piece jigsaw, myself, but I worry that there are possibilities I have not considered. For example, I want a really low stand, to hold a small acoustic barrier. I didn't think I could do it with this stand, but I've thought about it while writing this review and now I think I can.Or, if I had the instructions, it might show that what I want to do is impossible. I'm glad I don't know that.I would buy this stand again if I needed one... Or two. The price is good. The clips will hold that sort of dynamic mic that is pictured, the threads are standard and will attach to standard mic holders, or mics with built in threads. The clips seem solid.
