Light, neutral taste. Easy on my stomach. Not overloaded with protein. I have tried several varieties/formulas from Kate Farms, and any of the vanilla taste nearly the same. I wouldnt say it is yummy but it is doable for what it formulated for. Also, take a look at the ingredient list, it rather amazes me that it is chock full of strong ingredients yet doesnt taste like it. Nothing really stands out. Kate Naturals does a good job with this. If drinking direct from container (not tube feed), I think it tastes best extra cold, but sometimes room temp feels better on stomach. Each formula at different price point. Science backed, clinically proven. For tube feeding, or drinking. I drink these as meal replacement. This has 1.0 calories per ML (they have a 1.5 cal per ml version). I have a lot of leeway with what I can eat and drink, so from a medical standpoint I dont necessarily need a special formula like this. I have tried their peptide drink, their glucose support formula (this applies to me), renal support, and pediatric support. I trust these formulas. Nothing stands out for as being detrimental for anyone to consume them that dont have specific issues to address, which is why I am comfortable trying any of them. If I had a specific issue, I would very much turn to Kate Farms. I would also recommend to people, and have. Especially for my elderly clients who aren't eating much. I had one comment that they appreciate that this isnt real sweet. For me, the peptide 1.0 is nice for meal replacement, especially on busy days when I really need the nutritional support but cant seem to bring myself to eat anything. I am not worried about caloric intake (I'll make up for it at dinner time), but if I were, then maybe I would check out the Peptide 1.5.I have easily aggravated stomach, and so far I have never had any distress from any of their formulas. I can drink cheapo protein drinks or nutrition drinks and know that I will get continued nutrition from other sources through the day, or upcoming days. These drinks are formulated for sole source nutrition. So you bet I would be much more discerning on what I drank (or gave someone) if my only nutrition was coming from a liquid formula. When this is taken into consideration, the price is a reasonable and in some cases a bargain compared to others of its ilk. (seriously, take a look for Nestle version at $1.08 per ounce versus Kate Naturals at $0.61 per ounce). I'm not comparing it to Ensure or whatever because it isnt the same thing ($0.29, and Boost half of that). Check out their standard formula for half the price of this one (edges closer to ensure etc). It all depends on the formula!! Hence, why I dont rate on price.Overall I think its a fantastic brand. I iwll always keep a case on hand (standard 1.0 or standard 1.4 for basic needs or this peptide)
