Flip Up Safety Handrail by Grab Bar Specialists is a vertical movement rail grab bar with a smooth motion friction hinge to lower the bar to a horizontal position. It is a great help to those in wheelchairs and with limited mobility for sitting, standing and lifting. The smooth motion friction hinge can be easily raised and lowered with little pressure. The hinge holds the bar just past 90° when in the up position allowing the bar to be safely out of the way. Movement control friction hinges are designed to provide a unique, safe and convenient experience. This grab bar is constructed only for up and down movement and not for side to side pulling or stress. Manufactured from 1-1/4" 18 gauge, type 304 stainless steel. Heavy duty die cast zinc alloy mounting hinge bracket. Flip-up grab bars are designed, built, and tested to withstand 250 lbs. (113kgs) of vertical load when properly installed.
