Ian Griffiths will rock your socks off with this guide to the darker side of accounting showing that in most companies there are more talented fiddlers with a wonderful repertoire of beguiling techniques than in all the World's greatest orchestras put together. Irreverent to the accounting profession maybe, but the first and second editions were written well before the financial scandals of Enron and Worldcom, showing that not only was something rotten in the state of accounting for decades but that Griffiths was an amazingly accurate prophet. Readable, amusing, entertaining... but frighteningly thought provoking. The style makes it easy to read and understand for accountants and non-accountants alike. Sit back and be horrified if you hadn't already rumbled that most company accounts are 'cooked' and not really worth the paper they are printed on - but that is the nature of the beast and the clue is in the title: 'Creative Accounting' How to make your Profits what YOU want them to be!
